The State Cabinet on Friday approved the decision to implement the new Motor Vehicle Act from April 1, 2022, and with minimum fees.
“The new Motor Vehicle Act will be implemented from April 1 next year with minimum fees which the Centre has proposed,” said Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho.
He said the government has arrived at the decision by studying the entire matter in detail.
“It’s not only our State which has delayed in implementing the new Motor Vehicle Act. Some other States have also delayed and sent representations to the Central government to reduce the tax,” the minister said.
