Three workers of the electricity department were electrocuted while another was seriously injured at Savoi-Verem while they were replacing old wires with new ones on an electricity pole.
While two of them died on the spot, the third died on the way to the hospital and one worker is severely injured and currently undergoing treatment at GMC.
According to sources, Badshah (45), Durgesh (21), Aravind Kumar (19) and Ramkumar (22) were replacing wires at Savoi-Verem, when they came into contact with live wires.
Badshah and Durgesh died on the spot while Aravind Kumar breathed his last on the way to the hospital.
Ramkumar was admitted to GMC hospital. Ponda PSI Suraj Kankonkar is investigating further under the guidance of PI Mohan Gaude.
