New sarpanch, dy elected at Penha-de-Franca

PORVORIMr rChodankar’s candidature as sarpanch was proposed by Gurunath Vernekar and seconded by Shalu Gupta, Naik’s candidature was proposed by Sandesh Mandrekar and seconded by Savita Naik. rDomnique Rasquinha, observer from the Mapusa Block Development Office, conducted the election proceedings while Panchayat Secretary Avinash Palni assisted him. All 11 panch members were present at the meeting. rLater speaking to media persons, Sarpanch Swapnil Chodankar thanked the panch members for electing him unopposed as sarpanch and said he would endeavour to work for the development of the village by taking all panch members into confidence. r“My priority would be to ensure a clean village by concentrating on garbage management and take up new development works with the assistance of Revenue Minister and Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte. I will try and provide clean and transparent administration to residents of Penha-de-Franca,” said Chodankar.
