PONDA
The members of National Hindu Movement on Sunday targeted the criticizers of Sanatan Sanstha and said that their demand of imposing a ban on Sanatan is a big conspiracy.
They also invited police and criticisers to visit Sanatan and witness the devotion and meditation programmes taking place there.
NHM staged a protest march to oppose the demand of a ban.
Dr Manoj Solanki of NHM said that Sanatan Sanstha is an institution that imparts religious education to the Hindu community and is a guiding lighthouse in the field of spirituality. “Religion protects us. Sanatan is protecting our religion and hence a conspiracy is hatched against it,” Solanki said.
“In recent times, Sanatan is being targeted for political interests. Some groups are asking for a ban on it. Likewise, baseless allegations are being levelled against Sanatan and other Hindu organisations. In order to protest against the same, various Hindu organisations have organised a protest march,” he said.
“Nine pro-Hindus have been arrested in the past one month in the ‘Naala Sopara’ explosives seizure case and Dabholkar murder case. Out of those arrested, none are seekers of Sanatan,” he said. The demand of a ban on Sanatan is baseless, he added.
Mahesh Parkar said, “We are here to show our strength. We are trying to protect our religion at a time when some people are working against it. This is unwanted,” he said
He urged some of the writers with a different perspective about Sanatan to come and visit Sanatan.
“In this institution, sanskars are taught. Come and witness it,” he said and added, “Those criticising us will have no voice in front of our unity.”
Adv Satyavan Palkar said that Sanatan is working in the interest of Hindus and religion. “I condemn those who are against Sanatan. We will work in the interest of formation of a Hindu nation,” he stated.
The protest march started from Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir and culminated into a meeting near Tisk-Ponda.
Tulsidas Ganjekar of Sanatan Sanstha, Ramesh Naik and former Shivsena chief of Goa were among those who spoke at the meeting.
