Nigerian held with cocaine worth Rs 1 lakh in Mapusa

The Crime Branch sleuths arrested a Nigerian national for alleged possession of cocaine worth around Rs 1 lakh during a late-night raid at Mapusa. 

Details shared by the CB reveal the accused, identified as Chinedu Amos alias Victor Igwe (42), presently residing at Baga, was allegedly found in possession of a transparent polythene bag containing white powder suspected to be cocaine, weighing 10.79 gms, valued at Rs 1 lakh approx in the international market. The narcotics were attached under a search and seizure panchanama.

He was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Mapusa, and the Crime Branch obtained a five-day police remand for further investigation.

Preliminary inquiry has revealed that Amos was previously involved in two NDPS cases in Goa.
