Nigerian held with forged documents

Mapusa Police arrested a Nigerian without valid documents late Friday night from a house in Parra, near Mapusa.   

A Mapusa court remanded the accused to 14 days in judicial custody on Saturday.   

The accused, Christopher Onuigbo (29), was living in a guest house in Almeida vaddo, Parra with a forged passport and visa.

After receiving information from the Foreign Registration Office, Mapusa Police visited the guest house and apprehended the accused. According to the police, the accused continued to stay in Goa with the forged documents.   

The Nigerian was arrested under Section 14 of Foreigner’s Act 1946 and Section 6 (a) of Passport Entry into India Rules 1950, police said. PSI Yogesh Gadkar is conducting further inquiries.
