Nigerian national held for possession of drugs

PANAJI:

The Crime Branch (CB) arrested a Nigerian national for allegedly possessing party drugs. Investigations further revealed that Tony was illegally staying in India while allegedly also carrying out drug-related activities. The MDMA drugs seized from him are valued at Rs 75,000.

Superintendent of Police (CB) Rahul Gupta said they had received a tip-off that a drug peddler would deliver narcotics to a prospective customer at a parking area near a hotel in Arambol.

“Fifteen and a half pink tablets, suspected to be ecstasy, weighing 8.750 grams; one mobile phone, and a white Activa scooter have been seized,” he said. Tony, aged 46, has been remanded in police custody for five days.
