VASCO
Vasco-based industrialist and philanthropist Narayan Bandekar, who heads the NRB group of companies, on Friday afternoon said he has advised all his employees to use Dabolim airport for all their travel.
"We all need to do marketing for Dabolim airport and I am also doing my bit to market Dabolim Airport. I have told my company that employees must not use Mopa Airport for travel but must use the nearby Goa Airport at Dabolim or else they will not get their Travel Allowance (TA) because they may have to spend money to move from Vasco to Mopa.”
“I have already put this announcement even on the notice board that TA will not be provided for employees travelling from Mopa airport. In a democracy, anyone is free to travel anywhere from anywhere, but we will not pay the TA if the employee uses Mopa airport for travel,” said Bandekar.
Bandekar said he was part of the Airport Advisory meeting chaired by South Goa MP Fransisco Sardinha on Friday.
“The MP has assured us that this airport will continue operations, which is good news. The airport has implemented our previous suggestions, and we have now put forth more suggestions which they have agreed upon. We are happy that the Goa Airport Director is doing a great job," said Bandekar.
