The newly-hot mixed Margao ring road between the Comba railway crossing and the Pedda footbridge seemed to have become a paradise for lovers and liquor drinking for want of effective police patrolling.
Otherwise, how does one explain the presence of empty liquor and beer bottles found dumped alongside the road. In fact, if locals are to be believed, one often comes across empty bottles on the stretch of the ring road every day, suggesting that the public stretch has become a spot for liquor drinking.
Sources further informed that in the recent past, the stretch was used for the purpose of sex racket as evident by the fact that the police has nabbed the kingpin.
Locals, however, pointed out that lack of effective patrolling on the stretch, specially in the evenings and during night time seemed to have given a free run for liquor drinkers and lovers along the stretch.
