Rubbishing rumours of his plan to resign as St Cruz MLA, Tony Fernandes reiterated that he will complete his full term of five years.
Fernandes made the statement while speaking at the inauguration of a transformer at Vaddy-Merces on Monday. “I am an MLA of 33,000 people of my constituency and I will continue to work without any discrimination,” Fernandes added.
He urged the people not to fall prey to false rumours. “I will complete the entire term,” he added.
Earlier, Fernandes lauded the Merces panchayat for their efforts in getting the transformer approved.
“I have also proposed a transformer at Fonsa Bhat, which will be installed shortly,” Fernandes informed further.
Speaking on the occasion, panch Prakash Naik said that with the inauguration of the transformer at Vaddy a long-pending demand of the people has been fulfilled.
“Former sarpanch Assis Fernandes worked hard to get the transformer installed with the help of Power Minister Pandurang Madkaikar and local MLA Tony Fernandes,” Naik stated. The villagers have also expressed their gratitude to power minister
Madkaikar for fulfilling their demand.
