Addressing a news conference at Durgabhat-Ponda, Mamledar said his manifesto is realistic. Mamledar said BJP had failed to undertake development works in Ponda. “Though some de facto MLAs tried to create obstruction in my works, people are supporting me and I am getting good support,” he added.
When asked whether any de facto MLA was in fray, he said: “Yes, they are.” He said 200 workers of BJP and Congress from Cumbarjua and 70 from Valpoi recently joined MG Party.
“People react when they join the MG Party. They know how BJP failed to fulfill promises. Now, they trust MG Party,” Mamledar said.
Goa Suraksha Manch general secretary Adv Hrudhaynath Shirodkar accused the BJP of double standards and U-turns. “Many RSS members from Ponda will vote for Mamledar, though they are not coming out openly in his support.”
MG Party Ponda Block president Anil Naik, Sudesh Narvekar and Ajay Buva were present.
