No-confidence motion against Mulgao sarpanch

BICHOLIM

Four panchas of Mulgao Panchayat moved a no-confidence motion against Sarpanch Santosh Saraf on Wednesday.

The signatories to the no-confidence motion notice are Deputy Sarpanch Shruti Ghatwal, Prakash Arondekar, Govind Mandrekar and Vasant Gad.

Addressing a news conference at Deendayal hall Bicholim, Deputy Chairperson Ghatwal said the Mulgao Panchayat is backed by the BJP.

“Sarpanch Santosh Saraf joined the MGP without informing us and without taking us into confidence last week. Hence, we have moved a no-confidence motion against the sarpanch,” said Ghatwal.

The sarpanch was accused of not taking them into confidence while undertaking development works, taking decisions at his behest and not doing development works in time.

“Two other pacnhas, Srujal Revodkar and Datta Morajkar have also joined us in the seven-member panchayat, thus leaving Saraf alone,” she said.

Panch Prakash Arondekar said they have about 2,900 voters from all seven wards of Mulgao Panchayat and BJP has taken a lead in campaigning in Mulgao Panchayat area.
