Terming talks of proposed Goa Forward, Shiv Sena and NCP alliance in Goa as pure entertainment for the people of Goa, Deputy CM Chandrakant Babu Kavalekar on Saturday has said the 10 Congress MLAs, who had joined the BJP in July last, will never think of returning back to the Congress.
“There’s no question of any of the 10 MLAs thinking of returning back to the Congress fold. That question does not arise at all. I was associated with the Congress party for 22 years before I embraced the BJP. Now, there is no question of thinking of returning to the Congress”, he told the media on the sidelines of a program held at the ESI hospital to commemorate the Pension Week.
Babu pointed out that the 10 Congress MLA led by him did not join the BJP to return to the Congress. “We the 10 MLAs are all united behind Chief Minister Pramod Sawant along with the 17 party MLAs. Our target is now to win 30 seats in the coming election”, he said.
Saying that the people of Goa had some good entertainment throughout Friday over reports of the formation of a Maharashtra alliance model in the state, the Deputy CM said the politicians in the neighbouring state have no clue over the difference of politics in Maharashtra and Goa.
“People such as Sanjay Raut should not daydream of dislodging the BJP government in Goa. Raut should know what is the Shiv Sena base in Goa and whether they have any MLAs to form a government,” he said, while asserting that even the local Sena leaders and workers will agree that the party cannot form a new government in Goa.
