Notice to Bakery operators

PANAJI: Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration has informed bakery operators, dealing in food articles by way of manufacture and sale of local bread (Pao) dealing in food articles, without a valid Registration Certificated or License under the Food Safety and Standards Act-2006 and Rules/Regulations-2011, is in contravention of the provisions of this Act/Regulations and is punishable with imprisonment and fine.

Hence, it is requested that bakery operation without license or registration certificate should stop forthwith and should obtain the required license and registration certificate to continue business activity.

All food business operators should display their certificates prominently at their business premises.

Bakeries which are in unhygienic condition and without the basic facilities are requested to comply under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Rules (Licensing and Registration) 2011.
