At the gram sabha chaired by Sarpanch Sofia Bi, it was decided to issue notice to the two mobile towers as villages objected to the towers on grounds of radiation. While one of the towers is already is operation, the second one is at the construction stage.
The gram sabha also witnessed an uproar over a rickshaw purchased by the Panchayat for garbage disposal by a former Sarpanch. While members claimed that the rickshaw was purchased with donations from the people, they demanded to know why the record of donations is not available in the panchayat office. They also questioned the former Sarpanch Saimulla Faniband why the rickshaw was never registered in the name of the Panchayat body. Heated arguments ensued between Saimulla and incumbent Sarpanch Sofia Bi on the issue. After much discussions, the gram sabha has resolved to direct the Panchayat to lodge a police complaint on the issue.
Meanwhile, the gram sabha has demanded the setting up of a health centre as well as a balwadi in the village. It was resolved to purchase land for the two projects.
