PANAJI: The Mopa Airport Police arrested an absconding notorious criminal Swapnil Parab from Bengaluru on Monday.
Parab, facing 15 criminal cases and was even externed once, had been evading police and warrants issued by the Court from time to time. He was arrested from a hotel in Bengaluru and will be brought to Goa to face legal action.
SDPO Pernem Jivba Dalvi informed the media that Parab was involved in numerous cases across various police jurisdictions in Goa. Moreover, multiple warrants were pending against him in different courts across the State.
"Parab had previously been externed from Goa for two years in 2021 by the District Magistrate of North District. Similar proceedings are expected to be initiated again," Dalvi said.
"The accused person had been continuously evading arrest, playing a game of hide and seek with the police. Despite being traced on previous occasions and produced before the court, he managed to secure bail and remained untraceable," he added.
