MARGAO
Ahead of the planned work of laying the double track at the Davorlim railway crossing on November 9, Navelim MLA Luizinho Faleiro has come out in strong support of the people in their fight against double-tracking of the railway lines.
In fact, Faleiro pointed out that he and the farmers of Davorlim had got the South Goa district Collector on March 29, 2019 to stop work on the retaining wall along the line passing through the village fields causing destruction to the agricultural produce.
“It is shocking that after one year and seven months later we are back to square one. I strongly oppose and stand with all my fellow Goans in their fight against the double-tracking of the railway lines being constructed for the transportation of coal,” he said.
Faleiro extended his full support to the people of Goa against the double-tracking project, saying the project is being executed for the transportation of coal. He said he had opposed the coal transportation both within the Assembly and outside, adding that he is fully behind the people agitating against the double-tracking and coal transportation projects.
