The Margao Municipal Council on Monday launched a wi-fi facility in the municipal library and also made available model question papers for the benefit of students preparing for the Std X and XII examinations.

Launched at the hands of Margao Municipal chairperson Pooja Naik in the presence of councilors and Chief Officer Ajit Panchwadkar, the wi-fi facility will be available to the students on request at the municipal library.

Addressing the students, parents, councilors and the municipal employees, Chief Officer Panchwadkar said today is a happy day for the Margao civic body as the wi-fi facility launched at the library will go a long way in helping the school students in the competitive world.

“The students will get the opportunity to scan through the model question papers not only of the Goa Board, but that of the CBSE board of education.

“The thought of providing wi-fi facility for students came to my mind as I felt that something needs to be done for the student community to prepare not just for the Board examinations, but also for competitive exams conducted by the GPSC and UPSC,” he added.

He said the facility will be beneficial for children hailing from the lower strata of society, who lag behind in education for want of facilities and resources.

In her brief address, MMC chairperson Pooja Naik made a fervent plea to the student community to avail the facility made available by the civic body to answer the Board exams with confidence, and to help them face competitive exams in the future.
