Navelim MLA Luizinho Faleiro on Monday said that work on the state-of-the-art 12-bedded hospital attached to the Navelim Primary Health Centre will commence soon.
Addressing the media to announce the 4th mega health camp 2020 of Navelim constituency on February 14 at the Primary Health Centre, Navelim, Faleiro said the foundation stone for the health centre will be laid on February 14 depending on the availability of Health Minister Vishwajit Rane.
Saying that the government had granted administrative approval for the hospital project two years ago, Faleiro thanked the Health Minister for taking interest in the project.
“The Health Minister has told me that the project has been tendered and is pending before the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC),” he said, adding that work is expected to start soon.
On the 4th mega health camp for Navelim Constituency, the Navelim MLA said that around 100 doctors are expected to attend to patients at the mega health camp on February 14.
“When I became the MLA of Navelim, I had given a slogan to make Navelim clean, green, healthy and safe. The health camp is expected to attend to the medical needs of the citizens, especially the senior citizens,” he said adding that doctors from the Directorate of Health Services, ESI hospital, Goa Medical College, Bambolim and Goa Dental college will attend to the patients.
He made a fervent plea to the people to spread awareness amongst the citizens on the mega camp, especially amongst the senior citizens and the physically disabled.
On the coronavirus, Faleiro said a special counter irus will be set up at the mega health camp to spread awareness.
“The Coronavirus issue had figured at the just concluded Assembly session when the Health Minister explained how the government has geared up to face the situation. Fortunately, Goa has not recorded even a single case of coronavirus till date,” he said, adding that the special counter at the mega health camp will held spread further awareness on the situation.
The mega health camps initiated by the Navelim MLA have been a big success with hundreds of citizens, including senior citizens, availing medical benefits during the last three years.
