Oil spill on Karmalghat road

A two-wheeler rider was injured after her vehicle skidded on the oil spill on the national highway at Karmalghat on Tuesday.
According to reports, a Canacona fire brigade rushed to clear the oil spill at Karmalghat road after a few two-wheelers skidded on the oil.
“Lalita Kale of Sanvordem was proceeding from Canacona when her vehicle skidded and she sustained head injuries,” informed a fire officer.
Later, the fire officials neutralized the oil spill by using water.
In another incident, the fire personnel rushed to douse a house on fire, causing damages of over Rs 20,000 at Khalwadem area and saving further damages to the owner.
The house belonging to Vasudev Deshmukh caught fire on Tuesday evening, while fire services were called at about 4 pm.
Even though cause of the fire was not known, fire sources informed that fire perhaps started due to an electrical short-circuit in one of the rooms that was rented out.
