PANAJI

Parrikar has promised 365-day action plan for problems Panaji is facing.
Speaking to media persons after filing his nomination, he said, "It is a part of the democratic and constitutional requirement that I have to get elected within six months. I am contesting the by-election in Panaji and I am sure that with support of all Ponjecars and Goemcars I will win this election with a huge margin."
When asked if Atanasio Monserrate joining BJP's coalition partner Goa Forward will help him inc
reasing his margin, he said, "Every step and every event which is happening is a positive thing. But we do have our base strength. So victory was never a question mark. Now, since they are not getting any candidate the victory margin goes on increasing." Asked about Congress-mukt Goa by 2022, Parrikar said, "That is the target. In Goa, corruption and mentality of corruption has been brought in by the Congress."
Prior to filing his nomination, he sought blessings of Goddess Mahalaxmi amidst his supporters and well-wishers from the Constituency.
Addressing his supporters outside Mahalaxmi Temple, Parrikar said, "Panaji's action plan would be for 365 days. After results on August 28, you can begin with reverse countdown from August 29. We will find a solution to all issues Panaji is facing, right from development to infrastructure, education to personal issues, employment, land, water and power, among others. We will find a solution or at least initiate steps towards finding the solution. This is my promise for Panaji. This same strategy will be implemented in other major cities of
Mapusa, Margao, Ponda, Vasco, among others in a phased manner. "
"My victory is already confirmed. But with your support we have to see that the deposit of the Opposition is forfeited. I had said I would win by a margin of 8000 votes, but looking at you enthusiasm, I fell it would go up to even 9000 votes."
Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha said, "I don't think I have to tell you that you are very lucky to have the best candidate. And I don't think you will have any problem in deciding whom to vote. This is a definite victory and it is only a formality that has to be fulfilled."

PANAJI: "Congress has already passed a resolution on the issue of casinos and it was a part of our manifesto. Casinos are destroying Goa. It has polluted River Mandovi and the way rules have been manipulated to give permissions to casinos shows that casinos are the ATMs of BJP government for five years and Parrikar is continuing with it. BJP goes out of its way to help the casinos. Government is patronizing casinos," Chodankar stated.
