Mapusa Police arrested a native of Kholapur, Maharashtra with the possession of 1.2 kg ganja worth Rs 1 lakh on Saturday.
Acting on specific information, the staff of Mapusa Police conducted a narcotic raid near Sai Baba Temple, Cunchelim, Mapusa and apprehended Santosh Kamble (31) red-handed with the possession of 1.2 kg of ganja worth Rs 1 lakh.
Police registered an offence under Section 20 (b) (ii) (B) of the NDPS Act against the alleged accused.
The raiding team was led by Mapusa PI Paresh Naik along with PSI Sunil Patil, Head Constable Sushant Chopdekar and Police Constables, Rajesh Kandolkar, Prakash Polekar, Akshay Patil, Anand Rathod and Tukaram Kambli.
Mapusa SDPO Jivba Dalvi and SP North Nidhin Valsan (IPS) were monitoring the event. Further investigation is on.
