Mapusa Police arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor.
The minor was allegedly raped against her consent and later forced to consumer a pill to safeguard her from pregnancy. The incident took place around two days ago in Bardez.
According to police, the accused identified as Hazart alias Irfan Mulla entered into the house of the victim when she was alone at home and sexually assaulted her.
He further threatened her of dire consequences if she disclosed about the incident to anyone.
Police has registered a rape case based on a complaint filed by the mother of the minor.
An offence under Sections 452, 342, 376(3), 506(i) and 328 of the IPC, Section 8 (2) of Goa Children Act and Section 4, 6, 8 of the POCSO Act has been registered against the accused.
