VALPOI: A 42-year-old native of Gokak-Karnataka died in a hit-and-run accident at Keri dam on Wednesday.
According to Valpoi Police, Yallapaa A Mestri was proceeding on his motorcycle (KA-49-R-3966) when he was knocked down by an unidentified vehicle.
“It appears that an unidentified vehicle, probably a heavy vehicle, dashed the motorcycle and fled away,” said Valpoi PI Sanjay Dalvi.
He further informed that the body was shifted to GMC Hospital and an FIR is being registered.
Police said efforts are on to trace the vehicle and its driver.
