A rider who preferred to hang his helmet on the hook instead of wearing it, died in a road accident in Calangute on Monday evening.
In a self-accident, Riaz Allasab Pinjar (33) of Karnataka was riding a two-wheeler which skidded off the road near the Fat Fish Restaurant near Arpora Bridge and hit a roadside traffic police booth.
The accident happened at around 9.45 am on Monday. The deceased was travelling from Arpora and moving towards Calangute on a rent a bike.
On reaching near the Fat Fish restaurant, the two-wheeler skidded and the deceased fell on the road and got seriously injured.
He was shifted to Candolim Health Center where doctors declared him brought dead.
Calangute Police registered an unnatural death and are investigating further.
