The Agassaim police have arrested a car driver in a fatal hit-and-run case reported on Monday. The driver, who was on the run, is identified as Govind Naik.
A team led by PI Vikram Naik used human and technical surveillance to track the accused after he fled from the crime scene instead of helping the injured.
“The accused didn’t call the Ambulance or even rush the biker to the hospital, instead he fled. The bike rider succumbed to injuries later,” the police said.
The driver is arrested under sections 279 (Rash driving) and 304 A (causing death by negligence) of IPC and Section 134 of the MV Act.
