One ends life at Amona

The body of a 55-year-old man from Deulwada-Marcel was found floating along the banks of river Mandovi below Amona bridge on Wednesday.

According to police sources, Suresh Chodankar had left his residence on Tuesday after informing his mother that Tuesday would be his last day.  
Sources said some villagers had noticed Suresh walking along the banks of the river Mandovi below Amona Bridge on Tuesday evening. On Wednesday morning, his body was found floating in the waters.  
Police have registered the case as unnatural death. The body after conducting panchanama was handed over to his relatives for final rites. 
PSI Amir Taral is investigating the case under the guidance of PI Narayan Chimulkar.

Rejuvenating of borewells, water recycling mulled

Refuting claims that Goa Medical College Hopital (GMC) was facing a water shortage, agencies working with the department are looking for possible alternate solutions including reviving old bore wells and setting up a water recycling centre.
