One teacher arrested while another was booked in separate cases of assault on students in two different schools in Sankhali constituency.
In one case, a 45-year-old female teacher was arrested on Monday charges of assaulting a girl student on September 9.
A complaint was filed by the girl’s mother on October 7 stating that on September 9 between 8.15 hrs and 9.05 am, the teacher is alleged to have behaved with the student in an inappropriate manner in the Std 8 classroom and pushed on her right shoulder. The girl fell down and sustained minor injuries to the girl’s leg.
Acting on the complaint, the Bicholim police registered a case under Section 323 IPC and Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act.
During investigation, technical surveillance was mounted as well as local intelligence was deployed to trace the accused teacher. A police team led by LASI Maria Rebeiro was formed under the supervision of Bicholim PI Rahul Naik to trace and apprehend the accused and she was arrested on Monday.
Further investigation is in progress by LASI Vibhavari Gawas of Bicholim Police under the supervision of PI Rahul Naik and Bicholim SDPO DySP Sagar Ekoskar.
In the second incident, a teacher has been booked on charges of assaulting a boy student at a primary school.
In a complaint, the boy’s mother stated that sometime before 9 am on November 25, the female teacher assaulted the boy with a slap, due to which his head banged to the edge of a wall.
Bicholim police has registered the case under Section 323 IPC & Section 8 (2) Goa Children’s Act and PSI Vikesh Hadfadkar is investigating the case.
