In a bid to encourage employees of Goa Human Resource Development Corporation (GHRDC) to pursue further studies, the State government has announced one-time financial assistance to such administrative staffers.
The government has drafted a scheme to the employees of the GHRDC for pursuing further studies/ education through correspondence courses under which the employee will be entitled for reimbursement of Rs 10,000 as one-time assistance during the entire service tenure.
The objective of the scheme is to encourage and promote the employees to pursue further studies/ education through correspondence course who were deprived or could not continue or undertake education due to various reasons such as financial and other difficulties.
The government has directed the Corporation to establish a fund for the scheme from its own fund source or may seek assistance from the government as per requirement.
“The reimbursement shall be availed for pursuing any further studies/ education by way of correspondence i.e. Xth/XIIth or diploma or degree or post-graduation in recognised institutions of Government of Goa or Government of India,” the notification issued by the Personnel department stated.
The employees already pursuing their higher studies with the permission of the competent authority would be also eligible under the scheme.
The government has warned to take disciplinary action against the employee in case false or incorrect information is submitted. The employee would be also liable for penalties and if financial benefit under the scheme is extended, then the same would be recovered.
