Cyber awareness audio to be played in schools on Jan 26

PANAJI
The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has directed schools to play cyber awareness audio clips during Republic Day celebrations on January 26 as part of an initiative to promote digital safety for students and their families.

The instructions, issued to all school heads on Thursday, follow a proposal from the Cyber Crime Cell of the Goa Police, which has provided a link to the awareness audio clips.

“Goa Police, under the ongoing “Cyber Surakshit Goem” initiative, has developed concise and impactful audio clips addressing various aspects of cyber safety and the modus operandi of cyber fraudsters. These clips aim to educate students, teachers, and parents on staying safe in the digital world by highlighting topics such as online fraud prevention, safe internet practices and protecting personal information,” reads the order.

The Superintendent of Police, Cyber Crime, Ribandar, suggested that a Google Drive link containing the audio clips be played during Republic Day celebrations in schools, either before or after the scheduled programmes.

“This initiative will enable to reach a wide audience and disseminate vital information in an engaging manner,” it further said.

SCERT has also instructed schools to arrange for the audio clips to be presented to Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) members during meetings. “This initiative will contribute significantly to fostering a safer digital environment for students and their families,” it said.
