Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) carried out a joint site inspection of ongoing work at the new fish market complex in Vasco.Speaking to reporters after the joint inspection, MMC Chairperson Leo Rodrigues said that the work is being carried out at full pace.
"This much-awaited project had been delayed for many years and it was only after Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar held discussions between fish vendors and authorities that fish vendors vacated the area and handed over the premises for the construction of the new fish market," said Rodrigues.
Councillor Damodar Naik said the state-of-the-art fish market would be beneficial to all stakeholders.
"We have assured fish vendors to provide them with all amenities and facilities and this market will be completed on time," said Naik.
