MAPUSAr The panchayat also plans to outsource garbage collection in the village for which a minimum tax will be imposed on the residents. r“We have done an arrangement with the ICICI bank for online payment of house tax and other taxes. Henceforth, residents of Verla-Canca won’t have to come to the panchayat office to pay their taxes. They can do so in the comforts of their home,” said Marques. rThe sarpanch also informed the gram sabha that the panchayat has taken a decision to outsource garbage collection in the village. r“Tackling garbage is become a huge challenge. In order to carry out systematic collection of waste, we have decided to outsource garbage collection in the village,” the sarpanch said adding that the panchayat will soon decide who to outsource it to. rThe sarpanch has said the panchayat will very soon provide free wifi facility to the people of the village. “We will install wifi facility on the panchayat building which will be made available to the people in the village,” Marques said. rAs part of beautification plan, the Verla-Canca Panchayat will take up road widening and beautification of roads from Bhodgeshwar Temple to Canca junction and Canca junction to Lotlikar’s house. “We will also take up beautification of church and Sai Baba temple in the village,” the sarpanch informed. The panchayat plans to build a community hall through the DRDA funds above the existing panchayat building.
Online house tax payment facility in Verla-Canca soon
In a bid to provide service to the door, Verla-Canca Sarpanch, Milton Marques on Sunday informed the gram sabha that residents of the village will be able to pay house tax online within next two months.
