Online IPL gambling racket busted at Calangute

Calangute Police on Saturday night busted an online gambling racket connected with the Indian Premier League at a hotel room in Calangute.

Five accused have been arrested in this matter and electronic goods worth Rs 2.5 lakh including three laptops, 15 mobile phones and cash of Rs 25,440 has been seized from their possession.

Further investigation is in progress.

This is the third such IPL gambling case registered by the Calangute Police in the last one month. The IPL which began on September 19 will conclude on November 10.

Term of Mhadei Tribunal extended by 1 more year

PANAJIThe term of the Mhadei interstate water dispute tribunal has been extended by one more year. The Jal Shakti (Water Resources) Ministry notified the extension of the tribunal which now will conclude on August 20 next year.This is the third extension to the tribunal after it submitted its final award in August 2018.
