The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has acted on the Goa government’s complaint regarding an online property fraud racket, which allegedly duped tourists of crores of rupees. A case has been registered through the Economic Offences Bureau (EOB) in Mumbai.

While the development has come as a relief to the Goa government, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant expressed greater delight over Union Home Minister Amit Shah responding to his letter in Konkani.

Sawant, on Wednesday, posted Shah’s reply on his official X handle. The letter, dated July 25, was in response to Sawant’s February communication urging a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the scam.

“Thank you, Union Home Minister Amit Shah ji, for taking immediate action on my complaint regarding online property fraud and filing a case through EOB (Economic Offences Bureau) in Mumbai. It is a great pleasure to receive a reply to my letter in Konkani. It is a matter of pride that our beloved official language is truly respected in official communication and that the scope of Konkani is increasing,” Sawant stated in his post.

According to Shah’s letter, the case was registered by the EOB on March 28 and the investigation is currently underway. He also lauded the Goa government for its cooperation with the CBI in tackling cybercrimes.
