Budding seafarers have good news in store for them as the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has finally introduced the online SSC verification process.
In the absence of the online verification process, complaints were galore over the pendency of the verification process, causing a delay for many a budding seafarer from starting their careers in the shipping industry.
The Goan Seamen Association of India (GSAI), which had taken up the issue, has thanked Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who also holds the Education portfolio and to the Chairman of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education for introducing the online SSC verification process at the mentioned link https://results.gbshsegoa.net/ with a step by step guidance.“This commendable initiative will greatly benefit the Directorate General of Shipping and seafarers in obtaining their Indian Continuous Discharge Certificate (CDC) conveniently,” he said.
Frank said the online SSC and HSSC verification process implemented by the Goa Board will streamline and expedite the procedure for seafarers to validate their educational qualifications while applying for an Indian CDC. Previously, this verification process was often time-consuming and involved physical documentation, causing unnecessary delays and inconvenience to seafarers, he said.
He added: “The implementation of this online platform will now have a hassle-free experience for seafarers in obtaining their Indian CDC and can securely verify their SSC certificates online, saving valuable time and effort. This will not only enhance efficiency but also encourage more individuals to pursue careers in the maritime sector, knowing that administrative procedures are simplified and accessible. This digital solution will bring immense relief to countless seafarers who frequently apply for CDCs and rely on their educational qualifications being promptly verified.”
The GSAI acknowledged the efforts of the Goa Board in taking this proactive step towards simplifying and enhancing the verification process.
