MARGAO
The historic Lohia Maidan, Margao, became the rallying point for the opposition parties in the state to give a call to the people of Goa to bring about a political revolution in the state by changing the BJP government in the 2022 Assembly election.
The three opposition parties, including the principal Opposition Congress, MGP and the Goa Forward gave separate calls to the people of Goa from the Lohia Maidan on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Goa Revolution Day to bring about a political change in the state in 2022.
Opposition leaders, including Leader of Opposition, Digambar Kamat and Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai gave a call for a revolution in the 2022 Assembly election by ousting the anti-Goan BJP-led government.
After paying respects to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia and freedom fighters at the memorial, Digambar and Vijai lashed out at the BJP government for mishandling the Covid situation and working against the interest of Goa and Goans.
The duo underscored the need to bring out a change in government to mete out justice for the people, including the marginalized sections, who have been hit the most by the pandemic.
Goa Forward Chief reminded that the Goa Revolution Day was about a movement launched by Dr Lohia along with Dr Juliao Menezes and other freedom fighters to protect the civil liberties of the citizens. “The message 75 years later is as relevant today and it is time to oust the BJP government,” he asserted.
