BELAGAVI
Belagavi excise officials have arrested one person and seized 518 litres of Goa liquor which was being transported to Andhra Pradesh in a tourist bus.
Acting on specific information, excise sleuths headed by PI Dawalsab Sindogi intercepted the bus at Linganmath near Khanapur on the Dharwad- Ramnagar road.
The bottles were kept concealed inside the bus. The bus driver has been arrested and taken into judicial custody, while the bus and the liquor have been seized.
The raid was carried out under the direction and guidance of Addl Commissioner of Excise Dr Y Manjunath, Jt Commissioner of Jayaramegowda, Dy SP C S Patil.
