Padgaonkar quits AAP, cites personal reasons

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former general secretary of the party, Pradeep Padgaonkar resigned from the primary membership of AAP on Saturday.

He said he resigned from the party for personal reasons.

“I hereby inform you that I am tendering my resignation from the primary membership of Aam Aadmi Party with effect from today, October 17, 2020 due to personal reasons,” Padgaonkar said in his letter addressed to interim convenor Rahul Mhambre.

Later, while announcing his resignation to his friends and well-wishers, Padgaonkar said he has conveyed best wishes to Rahul Mhambre and his committee in the State. “I hope with the active support he (Rahul) receives from a strong team from Delhi that is now based in Goa, AAP will do better,” he said.

Padgaonkar said that he was yet to decide his future plans but would always be available for Goa.

“So far I have not decided anything but I am available for Goa and Goans on any issues,” Padgaonkar told The Goan.

He had resigned as the general secretary of the party a month back while undergoing treatment for Covid-19.
