VASCO
Crowds thronged the K Sera Sera Miniplex at 1930 Mall in Vasco, as the controversial movie Padmaavat was officially screened amid tight police protection on Thursday.
After it was decided that the movie would not be screened at Inox and other theatres in the State, people keen to watch the movie were pleased to find it being screened at the K Sera Sera Miniplex.
There was a huge rush at the miniplex and several policemen were deployed to provide protection to the moviegoers.
Speaking to the media, Vasco PI Nolasco Raposo said Vasco Police had offered protection at the miniplex in Vasco. “We had given them full police protection to screen two premiere shows on Wednesday night and also protection for all the shows that will be screened at the miniplex.”
“As a precautionary measure, we have also deployed our staff at the miniplex so that no untoward incident occurs. We will ensure no untoward incident takes place in our jurisdiction and we will take action as per law, if any one takes law in their hands,” said Raposo.
Meanwhile, manager of K Miniplex M Rehman said they had seen all houseful audiences for the screening of Padmaavat.
“We have two screens and we are screening Padmaavat the whole day. We are screening 10 shows on Thursday and all have been houseful. There may be issues regarding screening of the movie elsewhere, but as far as our theatre is concerned, there is absolutely no issue and Goa Police has given us the best protection and they have been here almost all day.”
“No untoward incident was reported here and we are extremely happy that Vascokars can watch the movie here,” said Rehman.
Movie goers appreciated the movie and said it depicted the Rajput legacy and there was nothing controversial in the movie.
“It’s a great movie and there is nothing controversial in it, nor have the Rajputs been shown in bad light. I wish the movie could be screened at all the theatres. We are lucky that we could watch the movie here peacefully,” said Abbit D’Costa.
