The Pagui Samaj of Canacona has hailed the decision of Congress party to appoint Vaishnav Pednekar, a well-known cricketer from Canacona and a prominent youth leader of Pagui Samaj, as Vice President of Goa Pradesh Youth Congress (GPYC).
Vaishnav Pednekar was earlier appointed as President of Canacona Youth Congress and worked for two years to build the Youth Congress organisation in Canacona.
Pagui Samaj said Pednekar’s hard work and loyalty towards Congress Party has elevated him to the post of GPYC Vice President.
Pednekar is known more as a sportsman than a politician in Canacona and has represented Goa State in cricket under 16, 19, 23 and 25. He also played for Dempo Cricket Club for two years and is a qualified fitness trainer. He is presently looking after his family business.
Apart from sports, he has a keen interest in social work and has supported various agitations to resolve various issues in Canacona.
Youth of Pagui Samaj, a prominent community in Canacona, has expressed happiness for giving due respect to the Pagui Samaj by appointing Pednekar as Vice President of GPYC.
Pednekar has expressed solidarity with the leadership of Janardhan Bhandari in Canacona and has assured to raise issues all over Goa along with issues of Canacona.
