“Every Sunday, we will try and meet people and interact with them. We will hear out their difficulties and try to resolve their problems as much as possible,” Palyekar said.
“In a way, the Sunday Dialogue will be a platform for people from my constituency to place their problems or complaints before us,” the WRD minister added.
He said each Sunday will be allotted for particular area and accordingly a meeting of the people in the area will be convened.
It may be recalled that in the run up to the 2017 assembly elections in Goa, Aam Aadmi Party had held a series of Goa Dialogues with the people of the State to elicit their response in preparation of the party’s manifesto.
After test charging a 200 KVA transformer in Anjuna on Saturday, the WRD minister inaugurated two high mast lamps on Monday “ one near old theatre and another at Tar, near market “ in Siolim.
Palyekar said he was aware that a lot of people in the constituency were facing power fluctuations issues and he was working towards resolving the power issue.
“Very soon we will set up a power sub-station at Badem which hopefully will take care of major power problems in the area,” he said.
According to the minister, while land has already been earmarked for the sub-station in Badem, the electricity department was ready with the proposals and estimates.
“I will work hard along with my colleague and power minister to install the sub-station at the earliest,” he said.
He said the high mast lamps installed in Siolim village were part of beautification plan and added that more such lamps would come up at open spaces, particularly in the coastal belt.
He said there were high expectations from the
people of Siolim, as his predecessor had failed to resolve basic necessities of the
local people.
