Panch alleges Inequity in delimitation

Alleging discrimination in the delimitation of his ward by the Cortalim-Quelossim panchayat, Cortalim panch Raymond De Sa has alleged that his Ward 3 has been singled out by enrolling 620 voters, compared to other wards which vary between 407 and 435 voters.

Giving an instance of anomalies in the delimitation process, which should have proportional division of voters for the respective parts/wards, De Sa said, “Consua ward had been divided into two parts/wards (VIII and IX) due to excess voters, while the same yardstick has not been applied to my part no III, consisting of Maddant and Nova Palmar.”
De Sa said his part contains 200 more voters as compared to other wards, which was unfair, unjust and in gross misuse of power.
“My Alma Bhat area, which is geographically connected to my ward, has been included in another part, which is not  connected,” he said.
