The Paroda gram sabha on Sunday saw members demanding to know whether the development works proposed by the panchayat were discussed at the panels constituted by the panchayat.
When the development works proposed by the panchayat came up for discussions at the gram sabha chaired by Sarpanch Paulina Fernandes, members led by former Sarpanch Gabriel Fernandes sought to know whether the development works were discussed at the Ward Development Committee and the Village Development Committee.
Gabriel also sought the name of members of the Ward Development Committees which have been set up as per the Goa Panchayat Raj Act 1994, date of meeting of the committees and detail of proposal made by these committees should be placed before the gram sabha.
In relation to other development works of the village which are under the responsibility of the village, he said the panchayat may please produce and discuss the details of standing committees.
