The Mandrem BJP block, Mandrem BJP Mahila Morcha and BJP Yuva Morcha accused former CM Laxmikant Parsekar of being involved in anti-party work and demanded that the party take action against him.

"If Parsekar was loyal to the party then he wouldn't have campaigned for independent candidates in 2017 State elections and recent  ZP polls. He became MLA 3 times on BJP's ticket, even built a school complex by taking benefit from the party. He should leave the party, else the party should take action against him," said Mandrem BJP president Madhu Parab, at a jointly held press conference on Sunday at Dayanand Sopte's office in Mandrem.

The conference was attended by BJP women president Nayani Shetgaonkar, Mandrem Mahila Morcha president Deepa Talkar, Yuva Morcha president Rama Naik, Mandrem BJP president Madhu Parab and defeated BJP candidates in ZP polls Anant Gadekar (Arambol ZP) and Dhananjay Shetgaonkar (Morjim ZP).
