Partagali Math to turn into mini Ayodhya during grand Panchashatabdi Mahotsava celebrations

Inauguration of 77 ft Shree Ram statue, culmination of 500 cr Naam Japa, presence of lakhs of devotees from Nov 27-Dec 7

Various religious and cultural programmes will mark the 550th anniversary of Shri Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math (also called Shree Partagali Jeevottam Math) during the 11-day celebrations for the Panchashatabdi Mahotsava that will begin on November 27 and conclude on December 7. On this occasion a 77-ft tall statue of Shree Ram will be installed on a grand platform at the venue. The statue, sculpted at Noida, will be inaugurated at the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Palimaru Mathadheesh Shrimad Vidyadheeshtirth Swamiji, his prime disciple Shrimad Vidyarejeshwartirth Swamiji, Kavlem Mathadheesh Shrimad Shivanand Saraswati Swamiji, Shree Chitrapur Mathadheesh Shrimad Sadjyot Shankarashram Swamiji will be present during the 11-day religious and cultural programme. As a part of the programme, a campaign of chanting of 500 crore Shree Ram Naam Japa was initiated on Ramnavami Day, April 17 this year and was carried out by the devotees through 120 centres and 104 sub-centres across the country. The campaign concluded on October 18.

Shree Ram Digvijay Rathayatra, starting from Badrinath, will reach Goa via Pollem route on November 22, taking a halt near Shree Parshuram Mandir at Poinguinim. The next day Rathayatra will move to Vasco, Panaji and Porvorim on November 23 and on November 24 it will be at Bicholim, Sankhalim Marcel, Mardol, Nageshi and Gothan. Then it will travel to Bandora, Ramnathi, Shiroda, Rivona and Margao on November 25 and next day it will be at Sawarkatta, Mokhard, Sadolshe and Partagali Math. The Rath Yatra will visit all Ram Japa centres in Goa.

Grand preparations have already started out at Math’s headquarters at Partagali to make this event the most memorable one. The celebration is expected to draw three lakh plus devotees from across the globe to the banks of river Kushavati where the Math is located at Poinginium in Canacona.

Shree Ram Mandir in the complex has been renovated and state-of-the-art auditoriums, Vedic Bhavan and Shrimad Indirakanttirth Bhavan have been constructed in the Math complex. The inauguration of Shree Ram Mandir and Shree Vir Vitthal Mandir has already been done at the hands of Partagali Mathadheesh Shrimad Vidyadheesh Tirth Swami Maharaj under whose guidance the renovation work was carried out in the Math complex.

The ancient structure of the temples have been kept intact while renovating, adding attractive additions. A huge dining hall, Goshala, Sanskrit Pathshala and a Ramayan Udyan has been created too along with the construction of a prayer hall and a Yoga centre. Around 650 rooms have also been constructed for the VIP guests who will visit to participate in the celebration and special parking zones. Road widening has been done too. A welcome gate has been constructed on the Margao-Karwar route on the road going towards the Math.

The stay and accommodation for the devotees who visit the Math on the occasion of Saardh Panchashatabdi Mahotsava will be available along with the food provision. This is the first such occasion organised in the country, and the preparations are carried out under the guidance and vigilance of Partagali Mathadheesh Shrimad Vidhyadheesh Teerth Swami Maharaj, Math Committee chairman Shrinivas Dhempe and the organisation committee.

Established by Jagadguru Madhvacharya in the 13th century AD, this first Gowd Saraswat Brahmin Vaishnava Math will be celebrating Panchashatabdi Mahotsava. The cultural programmes will start on November 28 and continue till December 6 at Madhav Narayan Mandap wherein Das Vaibhav, Bhakti Sudha, Gaan Sudha, Swar Rachana, Yuva Gayati Shree Ram Geete, Bhakti Sankirtan, Guruvandana and Das Vaani will be performing. The Pravachankar from Bengaluru Ramkrishna Bhat will preach on Bal Kand, Ayodhya Kand, Aranya Kand and Kishkindha Kand.
