Passenger detained for ruckus on Air India Delhi-Goa flight

Dabolim airport police on Thursday detained a 30-year-old passenger from Delhi who travelled by a Goa-Delhi Air India flight for creating panic and chaos on board the flight.

According to sources, the passenger claimed to be an official from the Indian Special Task Force and had boarded the plane to nab terrorists who were on board while the flight was mid air.

There was panic and chaos during the flight, after he informed passengers of the presence of terrorists on board the flight. After the flight landed at Dabolim Airport at around 4.30 pm, the Air India staff alerted the CISF staff, who handed the passenger over to Dabolim Airport police.

A family member of the passenger told police that the passenger was mentally disturbed and has been undergoing treatment at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences, New Delhi.

The passenger was later medically examined at District hospital, Chicalim and was later admitted at Institute of Psychology and Human Behaviour, Bambolim after obtaining necessary orders from the magistrate," said the source.
