The man was discharged from the GMC on April 2 and was later found in an unconscious state under a tree along the NH17 highway at Bambolim. After receiving information of his presence along the highway, Agassaim Police and a 108 ambulance service went to the site and found the man alive.
While the police and 108 ambulance staff inspected him, they found a GMC report in his pocket stating his age as 41 and name “unknown”. According to the medical report, the man had undergone medical treatment in the orthopaedics department of GMC since March 5 and was discharged from hospital on April 2.
The report also stated that the man had sustained injuries to his left hand and leg and he was recommended a follow up of the medical treatment.
As the 108 ambulance staff made efforts to move the man into the ambulance and shift him to the GMC hospital, he became conscious and opened his eyes and moved his legs and hands. He was later taken to the GMC in a semi-consious state.
According to Agassaim Police, the man was not ready to speak and identify himself. “His name was mentioned as “unknown” in the GMC report. He needs further medical assistance and we thought it necessary to re-admit him in the hospital,” a policeman told The Goan. When contacted, GMC authorities refused to comment in the matter.
