Pedestrian seriously injured in Mapusa bus accident

MAPUSA
A 30-year-old pedestrian from Bicholim was seriously injured when a Kadamba bus struck him at the KTC bus stand in Mapusa on Saturday evening.

The accident took place at around 5.15 pm when Govind Yadav was walking near the Belgaum-Sawantwadi bus location at the Mapusa KTC bus stand. At that time, Ranjit Gawas of Ibrampur-Pernem was driving the KTC bus out of the bus stand when the bus knocked down Yadav. His wife was by his side but she escaped unhurt.

After a delay in waiting for a 108 ambulance, the injured man was taken to the Mapusa district hospital in a police jeep and he was later referred to the GMC hospital for further treatment. Mapusa police is investigating the incident.
