Pending works in Vasco to be completed soon: Sawant

VASCO
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday assured to complete many pending works in Vasco.

Speaking to reporters after canvassing for BJP-backed candidates in Vasco constituency contesting the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) elections, Sawant said he had arrived in Vasco to launch the manifesto and to campaign in their wards after offering prayers to Lord Damodar.

“All pending development works like port connectivity 4-lane road and the KTC bus stand which were held up due to the pandemic will be expedited and completed before the 2022 assembly elections.”

“I appeal to people to elect a BJP-backed council so that we can reach out to all people and there is a stable pro-development council. We had won all four assembly seats in Mormugao taluka and I am confident that people will extend similar support to our BJP-backed candidates at the MMC polls,” said Sawant while appealing to voters to elect candidates backed by BJP MLAs, Carlos Almeida, Milind Naik and Mauvin Godinho, in the MMC polls.

The chief minister claimed that BJP had swept the last ZP elections because the entire rural population had extended support to the BJP.

“Since the last two years, we have taken up a lot of development across Goa and the people are happy. Though we are not contesting civic polls on party symbols, every BJP MLA is backing their candidates for the municipal elections.”

“The BJP-backed candidates won the recent municipal elections, except in Cuncolim and we are sure that the urban population will also support the BJP-backed candidates in other municipalities and get them elected,” said Sawant.
