VASCO
Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida on Thursday said work on the much-awaited Vasco fish market would begin within 15 days.
Speaking to reporters at a news conference after Chief Minister Pramod Sawant launched the manifesto of the BJP-backed candidates from the Vasco constituency contesting the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) polls, Almeida claimed that the BJP had given a very good, stable and development related council in the last election.
"All BJP legislators are together and working united for the victory of all 25 BJP-backed candidates. I also request Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to help the MMC on the financial side, because salaries of staff and workers were not paid this month as well.”
“While renovation work on the municipal building has begun, work on the fish market will also begin in the next 15 days as the work order has been issued," said Almeida.
Almeida said there had been no flooding in Vasco for the last many years.
"This is team work, where the councillors, MLAs and the government work together. We have given a clean council in the port town,” said Almeida.
